Speaker Biographies

Emma Rush is the Education Coordinator for Internet Crimes Against Children with the South Carolina Office of the Attorney General. In this position, Emma travels the state providing outreach and education concerning Internet Crimes Against Children and Internet Safety.
Emma graduated in 2019 from the University of South Carolina with a Master’s degree in Social Work and a specialization in Community, Social, and Economic Development. Throughout her professional career, she has volunteered as the Education and Awareness Committee Chairwoman for the Richland County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force and is also a current volunteer Guardian Ad Litem for Richland County. Emma brings a unique passion for prevention and has committed her career to raising awareness for these various crimes to keep our youth safe.
Jessica Gibson is a 2007 graduate of Pickens High School where she was involved in Student Government and the Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County Youth Board. She went on to attend Southern Wesleyan University, and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education in the Spring of 2011. She worked at several different locations before finally landing at “home” at Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County in June 2015. She obtained her Prevention Specialist Certification in November 2017, and became Director of Prevention Services in October 2020. Jessica has a passion for youth substance use prevention. She is currently working on her Senior Certified Prevention Specialist certification and a Master’s Degree in Public Health. Jessica lives in Pickens with her two dogs, Dash and Kimber. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her cheering for the Braves, crafting, or loving on her nieces, Magnolia and Carcie Jo.
